Playful Art 02 brings Pippi Longstocking into a child's room with three posters that each show a different side of her. In Pippi Blue Stripes she balances on a tightrope inside a border of blue stripes. Pippi Blue Dots shows her holding up her spotted horse, and in Pippi Fighting Tiger she stands face to face with a big orange tiger. Blue runs through the stripes and dots, while the tiger adds warm orange. Oak, red and pastel blue frames make the mix feel cheerful and personal. The large poster anchors the wall, and the two smaller ones step up beside it.

    Styling tips

    • Mixed frames suit a kids' room. Oak calms the large poster, while red and pastel blue frames pick up colours in the prints and highlight the small ones.
    • Keep furniture and floors in natural wood and woven textures, as here, so the posters bring the colour.
    • Add a few small things in the same spirit: a dotted mug, a striped bag or a roll of striped paper.
    • A warm sand-coloured wall, as in the picture, softens the bright blue and orange and keeps the room restful.

    Hang the wall

With 6 cm between the frames, the wall measures about 100 × 95 cm. It works above furniture that is 130–150 cm wide. Without furniture below, place the centre 145–150 cm from the floor, or hang it lower in a kids' room, as in the picture, so children can see it up close. Hang Pippi Blue Stripes first, then Pippi Fighting Tiger to its right at about the same centre line, with Pippi Blue Dots above it.

Some characters feel inherited. Astrid Lindgren's fearless girl with orange braids, brought to life through Ingrid Vang Nyman's illustrations, has been a companion to generations of children since 1945. She lives in Villa Villekulla with Lilla Gubben and Mr. Nilsson — and finds her way into any child's room just as naturally. Created in collaboration with Astrid Lindgren, this exclusive collection brings a little of her freedom, strength, and playfulness home.
