    Layered Organics

    2 posters · 2 × 50x70 cm

Layered Organics pairs two abstract posters by Alma: Layered Organic Shapes and Muted Abstract Shapes. Both are built from overlapping, paper-like planes in white, stone grey and sand, cut through by sharp black wedges, and one adds a quiet note of sage and terracotta. Hung side by side in 50x70 cm, they read as one calm, textured surface rather than two separate prints, and the black accents keep the soft palette from feeling flat. In the picture, the pair frames a small café table, with a white glass pendant hanging in the gap between them. It suits a dining nook or kitchen corner, but works just as well above a bed or sofa.

    Styling tips

    • Thin oak frames bring out the warmth in the sand tones. Thin black frames would pick up the dark wedges for a sharper, more graphic look.
    • Let one piece of furniture echo the terracotta in the print, like the deep red tabletop in the picture.
    • Dark wooden chairs ground the pale prints. Add linen, a steel jug or a glass carafe for a mix of soft and cool materials.
    • A white glass pendant between the frames lights the art in the evening and connects the wall with the table below.

    Hang the wall

With 6 cm between the frames, the wall measures about 110 × 75 cm. It works best above furniture that is 140–160 cm wide, but it also suits a small round table, as in the picture. Place the centre of the pair 145–150 cm from the floor and keep the top edges level. Centre the pair on the table, so that a pendant above it hangs in line with the gap between the frames.

    Alma

Alma is a design and art studio inspired by natural colours, movements and textures. With a keen eye for organic and pure forms observed in everyday life, both in a scenic landscape and in a banal situation, they seek expression through the aesthetic languages of minimalism, abstraction and geometry. Their process is one of quiet refinement — distilling each piece down to only what truly belongs, allowing balance and simplicity to do the talking. The result is work that carries a calm, grounding presence, settling naturally into the spaces and rhythms of daily life.
