    In the same series

    • Dozens of torn greige fragments fitted edge to edge into one block, floating on a bare off white sheet
    • A network of deep blue triangles painted with a loaded brush on warm greige, a paler offset version sitting behind
    • Nine small flat shapes spread across warm greige with generous space between them, each colour used exactly once

Brush Shapes draws a single heavy black line across a greige ground, doubling back on itself until it has enclosed four or five rough chambers without ever quite closing any of them. The brush was dry enough to split, so each stroke carries streaks of bare ground through its middle and frays at the ends. The pressure changes constantly, from a broad flat band to a thin edge where the brush turned, and the greige ground shows through wherever the bristles parted. Nothing is corrected and nothing is gone over twice. It is one continuous decision, recorded at the speed it was made.

    Styling tips

Oak could work well here, since it softens an image that is otherwise pure contrast. A thin black frame pushes it further towards graphic if that is what the room wants. In a kitchen or a dining corner it holds a wall without competing with what is on the table. It pairs nicely with pale wood, stainless steel and white ceramics.

    Size guide

The size of our posters always refers to the actual paper size — not the motif. Some posters include a white border that frames the artwork, similar to a passepartout. Where this is the case, it will be noted in the product description and is also visible in the product images.

Our sizes in cm and inches:

    • 21x30 cm / 8.3x11.8"

    • 30x40 cm / 11.8x15.7"

    • 40x50 cm / 15.7x19.7"

    • 50x50 cm / 19.7x19.7"

    • 50x70 cm / 19.7x27.6"

    • 70x100 cm / 27.6x39.4"

When choosing a frame, make sure to match it to the poster size. Our frames are designed to fit our posters exactly — a 50x70 cm poster takes a 50x70 cm frame. No trimming or adjusting needed.

We offer a wide range of sizes to suit any wall, from smaller formats perfect for shelves and art walls, to larger statement pieces that anchor a room. Not sure which size is right for your space? Feel free to contact us — we're happy to help.

Our posters are printed on 200 g/m² premium matte paper made from FSC® Mix Credit Paper 100%. The paper is archive-proof, meaning it won't yellow over time, and all printing is done in modern facilities with ISO 14001 certification.

    MEET THE ARTIST

    Mareike Böhmer

Mareike Böhmer is a freelance artist from Germany whose work spans abstract art and nature photography. Her journey began in 2012 with vibrant, geometric abstract graphics, before frequent travels to Scandinavia softened her approach, drawing her toward more organic forms and a gentler colour palette. In the past year and a half, she has expanded into larger-scale paintings on canvas, alongside her earlier paper-based work, while her photography leans into minimalist composition and distinctive lighting, capturing the same meditative balance she finds in nature. Her work has been featured in interior magazines including ELLE Decoration, Schöner Wohnen, and VTwonen, and is part of select collections at IKEA.
