Retro Checkered Vase Poster

Retro Checkered Vase is a single round-bellied vessel covered edge to edge in a red and cream checkerboard, set against a flat olive ground. The squares bend with the curve of the vase, stretching across the widest part and compressing at the neck and foot, which is what gives a flat drawing its volume. Nothing is shaded and nothing is outlined, so the pattern alone does the modelling.
