Red Swirls Poster

Red Swirls loops wide bands of deep oxblood across a speckled warm grey ground, each stroke carrying the dry drag of the brush along its length so the colour thins out where the bristles lifted. Black sits behind the red in the gaps, which pushes the ribbons forward and turns the empty areas into shapes of their own. The bands cross and fold over one another without ever closing into a knot, and no passage in the picture repeats another. It runs edge to edge with no border, so the loops carry on past the frame.

A black frame could work well here, since the motif already uses black as a structural colour. Oak softens it if the room is otherwise pale. On a hallway wall or beside a doorway the scale reads from a distance, which is where this one works hardest. It pairs nicely with warm plaster, dark wood and textiles in rust or clay.
