Oxblood Plume Canvas

Deep burgundy fabric folds across the whole frame in long ribbed pleats, photographed up close by Robert Knapp. Canvas is a natural fit for a motif like this, since the weave echoes the fabric and gives the wall art a tactile depth. Everything stays inside one colour family, from wine red to almost brown, rich and a little theatrical. The canvas print arrives ready to hang above a sofa, with the elevated presence paper cannot quite match. A float frame adds a shadow gap around the edge for a gallery-like, premium finish.

Above a sofa or an armchair, the deep red canvas could give a neutral living room a point of focus. The burgundy palette pairs nicely with oak, sand and camel textiles, and with black metal lighting. Left unframed the canvas looks clean and ready to hang; a float frame adds a shadow gap and a more dramatic edge. Let it have a wall of its own, since the colour carries the room by itself.
