Wine Canvas

Printed on canvas, the oversized lettering gains a matte, painted surface that suits it. The word runs off every edge in deep burgundy, with two tones of red overlapping where the strokes cross, and the weave keeps the flat colour from looking like vinyl. The cream ground around it stays bare. Stretched over a wooden frame, it comes ready to hang straight from the box, which suits a kitchen or a bar corner where glass would only catch the light. A float frame adds a shadow gap and a little formality to a very informal image.

Made for a kitchen, a bar corner or a dining wall, and best seen from across the room. The burgundy works against warm white, clay and olive walls and picks up wine-coloured glass and dark wood. An oak float frame gives the cropped letters an edge to stop at. Hang it alone; the cropping needs room.
