Shower Below the Summit Canvas

Shower Below the Summit carries Hokusai's view of Mount Fuji across the canvas, the mountain rust red with snow in the gullies, the sky graded from deep indigo to pale blue and three forks of salmon lightning cutting the dark base. The woven surface suits a woodblock print and gives the flat colour areas a grain close to the original paper. As wall art it has a more elevated, gallery like presence and arrives ready to hang. A float frame adds a narrow shadow gap around the edge and makes canvas the more exclusive of the two formats.

Hung as it comes, the canvas keeps the cream margin the print was made with. A float frame in walnut could work well if you want the rust red carried into the frame. Above a sideboard or in a hallway it suits a wall you pass. It pairs nicely with cane, aged brass and cream ceramics.
