A passe-partout — or mat board — is placed inside a frame to create a wide white border around your print, giving the artwork room to breathe and a clean, gallery-like quality. This version features a slightly larger bottom margin, following the traditional gallery convention where extra space at the base creates a sense of visual balance and makes the print appear centred to the eye. It's a subtle but considered detail that elevates the overall look, particularly for fine art prints, photography, or any artwork you want to present with real care. It works best in a classic white, black, or natural wood frame, and suits living rooms, bedrooms, and home offices equally well.

Size guide

The size of our posters always refers to the actual paper size — not the motif. Some posters include a white border that frames the artwork, similar to a passepartout. Where this is the case, it will be noted in the product description and is also visible in the product images.

When choosing a frame, make sure to match it to the poster size. Our frames are designed to fit our posters exactly — a 50×70 cm poster takes a 50×70 cm frame. No trimming or adjusting needed.
