Modern Striped Sofa Canvas

Printed on canvas, the brown ground gains the grain of coloured paper and the striped sofa stops looking like a vector drawing. The sky-blue and cream stripes bow and taper as they were painted, the thin white outline holds the whole piece together, and the weave keeps the flat colour alive. Nothing else is in the picture. Stretched over a wooden frame, it comes ready to hang straight from the box, with no glass to flatten the brown. A float frame adds a shadow gap that suits the wide format.

The wide format and the single object make this an easy piece for a living room wall above a real sofa, or for a hallway where the joke lands as you walk past. Brown and sky blue work with mid-century wood, cane and cream upholstery. An oak float frame disappears into the brown and lets the stripes carry it.
