Art collaboration

Hanna KL

What inspired you for the collaboration with Postery?

I picked out a collection of artworks together with Postery that would fit the brand and their clientele, and also represent what I do in just three prints. I’m very happy with the selection and it goes along well with the rest of the prints on Postery.

Where do you take your inspiration from generally?

Nature; loads of palm trees, plants and flowers. Before the pandemic, I was spending a lot of time in Los Angeles and there is nothing that inspires me more than being there. Even before I ever went to California and LA I was making art prints that were inspired by the city and when I first visited it sort of felt like I was coming home. My work definitely benefits from me being there, it develops after each trip.

The California Connection
A conversation behind the prints

Hanna Kastl-Lungberg is a versatile graphic designer and visual artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. Hanna has developed a personal expression creating playful artworks where she combines colours and shapes in a unique way and turns them into paintings, prints and patterns. Her work is greatly influenced by the time she has spent in Los Angeles, and when Hanna is home on the Swedish west coast she creates artworks inspired by some of her favourite things about LA.

How did you become interested in creating art?

I grew up with parents that are both artists so that part of me was always there, and I was always encouraged to be creative. When I was studying sustainable design at uni I realised I wanted to be a graphic designer and that’s when I suddenly started creating art prints, sort of as a way of learning. To my surprise, my prints became very popular and that’s where it started!

Do different things inspire you in Sweden vs US, and how does your vibrant and dynamic LA style resonate with Sweden?

I get inspired by colours and the scenery when I’m home in Sweden, mostly during spring and summer. A vibe or a mood can help me be creative as well, like sitting at a café drawing or going for a nice walk. But LA always gives me more inspiration because everything is so different from home, and the atmosphere over there is exactly what I want to capture with my art. It took me some time to get my work picked up in Sweden because it was different from what was popular here. But luckily, my artistic expression has developed into something that is becoming more appreciated here in Scandinavia too!

If you could choose one message you want to send to the world with your art, what would it be?

Appreciate nature more!
