Welcome to Postery! How are you?
Thanks for asking, I’m very well.
Tell us about yourself and how you got started with art.
I fell in love with photography when I was 14 years old.
So when I was 19, I moved to New York to become a photographer. I studied and also worked in hundreds of different cafes, and after a while, I got my first assignments shooting for NYLON magazine and INDEX magazine. After that, one thing led to another.
What are your main sources of inspiration?
The people I love.
Who are your biggest artistic influences?
Artists and photographers, especially Bettina Rheims, Marie- Louise Ekman, Wolfgang Tillmans, Roe Ethridge, Juergen Teller, and Cindy Sherman.
Where do you live/reside?
In Stockholm, Sweden.
Does your residential place has an impact on your art?
Hmm, I’m not sure, but I shoot a lot in my apartment, so in that case, yes.
When is your favourite time of day to create?
Early in the morning or really late at night.
How do you see your prints in an interior setting?
A friend of mine told me recently of an idea she had about ”bathroom art”. I love that idea, so maybe buy my prints and hang them in your bathroom :) In really nice frames.
What do you like doing when you are not creating?
I love to be with my children, friends and dogs. Oooh, and I go to the pool and swim laps a lot.
Do you have a hidden talent?
Unfortunately not, or maybe it’s hidden even for me. I hope so and hope I’ll find it soon.
Would you say you are an introvert or an extrovert?
I’m an in-between bird.
What are you focusing on right now?
My work and also my summer plans.
What is your current obsession and why?
Someone special.
Do you have any future projects coming up that you would like to share with us?
I’m working on a new photo book I’m super happy about.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I'm obsessed with the Fever Ray song "Kandy" right now.
