A minimalistic collection by Brendah Henrysson

Brendah Henrysson is a self-taught artist who is known to experiment with ceramics, jewellery and now wall art. She has always been interested in the arts, but it was in 2019, when Brendah moved to Gothenburg, that her creative journey really began. Today, her style is minimalistic and abstract, incorporating organic and flowing shapes. Brendah’s inspiration comes from whatever she finds interesting in her surroundings – anything from people to buildings.

Welcome to Postery! How are you?

Hi! Thank you! I'm feeling very happy and emotional at the same time. So many things are happening that make me excited and scared simultaneously. But I'm looking forward to the upcoming adventures!

What’s your artistic background?

I'm self-taught and experiment all the time with new ideas.

What’s most important to you in the creative process?

As a child, I always stressed about all the school assignments. It made me so frustrated and sad that I could never finish at my best. So I was never pleased and always ashamed of the results. I knew I could finish, but I needed to take my time for it to happen. So, in my creative process, I need to enjoy what I’m doing without feeling stressed about a deadline.

"...inspiration can come from people and buildings to dreams and shadows."

Where do you find inspiration?

I am easily fascinated by my surroundings. So inspiration can come from people and buildings to dreams and shadows.

Where do you live?

I live in Gothenburg.

Did you always want to be an artist?

No, I’ve never really known what I wanted to become. But I’ve always enjoyed creating.

What do you like doing when you are not creating?

At eight years old, I started playing football, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since. And I still love it!

What will we never find in your home?

Plastic flowers and candy.
